SVC MOAA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FOR 2013

During April, 2013, the Silicon Valley Chapter sent a signal of encouragement to three all volunteer force members– two Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets and a mid-career non-commissioned officer who are on the way to become leaders of the future in military service. Their units selected them as deserving of not only recognition but also financial support.   Continuing a decades long Silicon Valley Chapter tradition with the support of membership donations, each of these scholarship recipients has received  a $500 contribution to their education expenses.

Here are the 2013 award recipients:


Petty Officer First Class Devin Swann, USN


Navy Operational Support Command San Jose


Enrolled at Foothill College, Los Altos


Goal:   BS degree in engineering


Advance to Commissioned Service





Cadet Danielle Dukes, Air Force ROTC


 at San Jose State University 


Goal: Sociology degree, June 2014

Then Air Force Active Commissioned Service



 

Cadet Thomas Secula, Army ROTC

at Santa Clara University


Goal: Dual Majors degree Behavioral Science and Sociology, June 2014,


Then serve in National Guard
